the modern naturalist

This light-flooded, spacious primary bedroom was challenged with the best use of space because of its size and window placement. The clients are active, busy business owners who were looking for a soft, relaxing space to both awaken to, and unwind in. The color palette is a mix of quiet, natural tones balanced by touches of darker wood and black. The interplay between these tones, along with natural wood elements and vibrant green plants creates a sense of ease, while still being interesting and engaging. A design like this feels timeless and current - not trendy, fussy or overdone.

This room is approachable and comforting - allowing an additional lounge and reading area for some quiet time and represents a mixture of the owners’ existing pieces and some special finds to create cohesion and to tell a story. The artwork is also a combination of vintage and new pieces.

The texture of the bedding is forgiving, too. It does not demand a perfectly crisp, freshly pressed look. Rather, as this room is lived in, it can still feel pulled together, even slightly relaxed with the subtle tufting on the quilt. 100% linen sheets follow this lead, and also give permission for a more casual experience while still offering supreme comfort and top quality.
